Alan Morris takes a look back at last week's action and picks out two recent runners you need to be tracking. RAGING AL (T VAUGHAN)

Raging Al started as a 100k yearling with Ralph Beckett but after some promise on debut ended up going to Tim Vaughan’s yard for 15k, where he finished a fair 3rd off 72 on the flat. After an unfortunate hurdle debut he has slowly got the hang of hurdling and should have a workable mark after a never-nearer 5th at Hereford with two good horses well-clear. The 5yo gelding is still keen but his dam was a group-placed stayer and with a more stamina-laden sire than her first offspring Raging Al can win over hurdles in time now he has qualified for handicaps.

SOLDIEROFTHESTORM (J & A J O’NEILL)

Soldierofthestorm went straight in to open chase company on his debut at Hereford over fences and wasn’t foot-perfect but ran on from well back to finish second. He had won well on seasonal debut over hurdles two weeks previously but this opens further options now. He seems to have been kept to flat tracks and with his yard in good form further opportunities should be found over 2m 4f+.
