He kept on in atrocious conditions before weakening two out. The former point-to-point winner may yet still strike over fences off a very low mark of 87 presently. He previously had three seconds in maidens for Harry Dedham and is related to two point winners and a chase winner and can reward us for a yard that goes under the radar.

MAN MAID (H DICKIN)

A maiden and novice hurdles often have a handful of competitive horses from top yards, and some horses who never show anything and have short-lived racing careers. It’s not an exact science trying to decipher the ability of those in the middle who may have some ability in their right grade or being brought along very steadily but the nicely-named Man Maid looks to have shown enough in three quick hurdle runs to suggest in time the 5yo mare can trouble the judge. Two fourths at a fair distance behind the contenders were over tough conditions at Chepstow and Ffos Las but that should give a workable mark. Her dam won  over 21f over hurdles and 26f over fences so may need a trip to show her best. CURRENT HOTLIST:
