Alan Morris looks back on last week's action and pinpoints two recent runners you need to be adding to your trackers. ELECTROCUTION (C BANHAM)

It’s the season for finding well-handicapped 3yos improving considerably from non-competitive runs in 2yo maidens but it can be difficult in working out the solid form from weak events. Electrocution sparked into life at Wolverhampton in finishing 2nd at 33-1 in January and returned to the circuit this week to win over 7f off a mark of 51. Those around the 3yo gelding in both races seem solid enough for the grade and can go in again themselves. He was ridden more conservatively for his win due to the wide draw and the pace collapse played into his hands so lightning might not strike twice under a penalty and a mile might suit better in time but it’s a workable mark and enough promise for another day.

ELASHGAR (K FROST)

This 3yo colt cost 125k as a yearling but had only one race for Richard Hannon before a winter move to Kevin Frost and two quick maiden runs. It’s very hard to put a mark on his well-beaten 3rd of 5 at Wolverhampton but the speedily-bred colt is a half-brother to 3 6f /7f winners and may go under the radar for a yard who could find the right grade for him if not too harshly handicapped.
