THE HOTLIST

Alan Morris picks out a duo of horses who've recently taken to the track and both produced eye-catching performances worthy of making The Hotlist. MISTER R (N RICHARDS)

Mister R ran a promising race on debut behind three previous winners at Kelso over 2m on heavy. The 5yo horse was surprisingly strong in the market, halving in price to 5-1 but was competitive for a long way and weakened only late on. He is a half-brother to three winners that the yard have trained, including the 144-rated Nells Son who stays 2m 4f and looks to have a promising future.

ANOTHER HIGH FIVE (L RUSSELL & M SCUDAMORE)

Another High Five has been steadily progressing in maiden and novice company and ran on very well to finish second on handicap debut, up in trip to 2m 6f off a workable mark of 101. There is very little chase form in his immediate family for a yard associated with chasing types but there is plenty of scope for improvement off a low mark.
