Alan Morris looks back at the past seven days and pinpoints a pair of recent runners worth following. STIRRUP CUP (T EASTERBY)

Stirrup Cup is looking a bargain at 1000gns and ran well on seasonal debut in finishing second at Thirsk this week, travelling well but a long way from the winner drawn on the opposite side. The 4yo gelding won over 6f as a 3yo at Hamilton and he looks ready to strike as his form has been on ground no faster than good so far, alongside Newcastle form. He is related to a 6 1/2 - 8f winner in Italy and could stay further.  He looks the type to progress further and be placed to advantage by Tim Easterby.

SEACRUISER (R BECKETT)

Seacruiser ran well in two maidens as a 2yo, winning over a mile at Newmarket. After 561 days off he re-emerged this week in a strong conditions race over a barely adequate 7f, running a promising race and showing good ability remained. His 2000,000gns purchase price owed something to the grand-dams progeny it seems but Seacruiser was mentioned with classic potential prior to his season off and subsequent gelding. His debut here suggests they have continued hopes for the 4yo and 10f will look to suit in time but a mile should help next time. CURRENT HOTLIST:
