Alan Morris pinpoints his two recent runners that you have to follow in the Racing Daily Hotlist. APPROACHING DAWN (J GOLDIE)

Approaching Dawn is a late-developing 6yo who only made it on track late on in his fifth year but he is progressing nicely from a very low mark. Daybreak came at Musselburgh in early June over a mile, getting up late on. After a subsequent blow out on soft he was third over a mile last week, looking in need of a stiffer track or further. The gelding is entered on Tuesday over 1m1f at Musselburgh which should suit but it looks competitive for the grade and I wouldn’t jettison him if he fails to win, particularly where pace might be an issue. He has been going down early to the start and it’s worth noting his pre-race behaviour when considering his performances.

SUPREMISSY (I JARDINE)

Supremissy caused a shock on her fifth start, getting up late to beat the pace-setting Wee Mary over 5f off 54 and 6f looks definitely within scope. The inexperienced 3yo filly unseated on leaving the stalls in a two-horse race at 10-1 so will continue to improve for experience and hit the top spot again. Her dam was a 10f winner but has a sprint sire so we can take our cues from the track.
