TODAY’S TIPS (THURSDAY)

Alan Morris is back with his weekly tips for Thursday’s action with selections from Newmarket and Brighton.

16:33 NEWMARKET

James Owen’s horses do seem to be a little overbet but High Fibre has run well in two starts on flat and over hurdles for his new yard and looks a solid favourite here. Cieren Fallon has been in great form for the yard and High Fibre looks to have the speed to be wise to any lack of pace here. Minhad has to prove himself over the distance and it is unclear what Koala Rose achieved when comfortably beaten in finishing second of three last time.

HIGH FIBRE (WIN)

16:55 BRIGHTON

Course and distance winner Gearing’s Point has no obvious excuse for a disappointing run two days ago but is still a short price in a very modest race. Foinix could be kidded into winning but a chance is taken on Alex The Great. There have been hints over hurdles and on the flat that the 6yo might be able to resurrect his career from a low mark and his capable claimer can offset the disadvantage at the weights. Third place could be covered on the exchanges on such a speculative bet.
